     Included on this page is a list of web-sites that are related to the work of elders. Descriptions are usually included with the link. The list is not exhaustive and if anyone wants to recommend a site on the eldership or on church leadership, please let us know.


The Church and Nation Committee of the Presbyterian Church of Australia in the State of NSW. This web-site serves this standing committee of the church and is intended to be a means of bringing Christian thinking on current issues in society to the Church membership. It has an archive of papers and assembly decisions over 25 years as well as draft papers on current issues.

There is opportunity for response. One of the most useful features for politically active Christians is a series of “How to …” papers with advice on how to go about changing the things they cannot accept.

Elders Institute of Canada A Canadian Website of the Presbyterian Church of Canada which contains a lot of interesting material for elders. This includes a range of online courses. Be sure to check out the Resources links.

Women Elders – Sinners or Servants. American in origin, this scholarly paper by Richard and Catherine Kroeger examines the role of women in the ministry and eldership.

The Presbyterian Theological Centre, Sydney. If your study aspirations go beyond the limitations of this web-site, then this institution may be just right for you.

The Presbyterian Fellowship  is the web-site of an independent group of church members that is committed to the advancement and well-being of the Presbyterian Church of Australia. It was formed as a means of expressing reservations about the direction that the church was heading.  It is New South Wales-based and tends to reflect the issues that are of concern in that state.
Among other things it has a good “layman’s” explanation of the inner workings of the church.
